| Term | Meaning |

| Tenant / Workspace / Organization | The isolated business environment that owns a team's projects, billing, and members (used interchangeably in the app) |
| Institution | A workspace created via the Institution account type, with its own setup flow and institution-specific settings layered on the same workspace/project model |
| Owner | The workspace/project role with full control, including deletion and ownership transfer |
| Admin | The workspace/project role that can manage members and content, but cannot create another Admin |
| Member | A standard contributor role on a project |
| Guest | The most restricted workspace/project role; can view but not create/edit/delete |
| PICO | Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome — the structured research-question framework used in the PICO Builder |
| Study Design | A cataloged research methodology (e.g., "Prospective cohort") a project selects during its research setup journey |
| Research Setup Journey | The project Overview tab's guided checklist: define the research question (PICO), select a study design, link a conference |
| Conference / Submission Target | A cataloged event a project can link to as a submission target |
| Onboarding Complete | The workspace setup step that must finish before every other screen becomes available |
